Flow Meters
Mesa Laboratories, Nusonics Division has a long history in the design and marketing of ultrasonic-based measurement instruments for industrial applications. These instruments are all based on the principle that the velocity of sound through a liquid medium can be used to determine certain physical and chemical characteristics. All of the Nusonics instruments consist of a transducer assembly that is used to produce and detect the ultrasonic pulse and a transmitter that provides the associated electronics and communication capability. The Nusonics Model CM-800 Transit-time Ultrasonic Flowmeter can measure highly accurate flow rates in a wide range of fluids. Since the CM-800 utilizes transit time technology, it does not depend on the presence of particles to make an accurate measurement, like a Doppler flowmeter. It will operate with high accuracy in a wide range of clean liquids. The flowmeter can tolerate up to 2% by volume of particle or bubbles in the process stream without affecting the performance. Primary applications are water, oil/fuel oil and clear chemical streams. The CM-800 has a number of advanced features, including:
